Paper Wings Productions

I had stamps from my friend Carrie at Paper Wings Productions (www.paperwingsproductions.com) that I've wanted to use for awhile. This was the week...
I was going to make a couple of travel inspired tags, but I got really carried away.

I started with a London Tag:
I stamped London at the bottom of the tag with Memento Tuxedo Black, and stamped again on a post it note for a mask.
Cut out the mask, placed it and then stamped the double decker bus, and then stamp again on a post it note for a mask.
Cut it out, place it and stamp Big Ben - stamp again on a post it...you got it, cut it out and place it. (all the stamps from London #19199)
Then stamp the postcard from Background Writing #904 set with VersaFine Vintage Sepia.
I colored everything with Copic markers. Sponged a little sky with VersaMagic Sea Breeze. Then, added a few highlights with a white gel pen. I added JudiKins Diamond Glaze to the bus windows for more dimension. Tied on fibers and ribbon (May Arts) and done!

I loved it so much I had to keep going...next was a Paris Tag:
I did all the same steps, using the bistro table and chairs first, then the Eiffel Tower then the word Paris all in Memento Tuxedo Black. (all stamps from Paris #19198)
Again, I used the postcard stamping in VersaFine Vintage Sepia. Colored with Copic markers.Highlighting with a white gel pen and tying on fibers and ribbon!

I couldn't stop thinking of another stamp I ran across - I have always loved it..."It is not the destination, but the journey." Oh, I could make a travel journal and use those words! I had a composition book, the perfect paper and the stamps were already dirty, so I may as well use them again before I clean put them away.

Travel Journal:
I started with Crackle paper from Paper Pizazz - stamping the background first I used all the stamps from the Paper Wings Productions stamp sets from the tags: London #19199, Paris #19199 and Background Writing #904. I stamped them randomly with VersaFine Vintage Sepia. I also used Destination (Inkadinkado  390933) and Journey (7Gypsies by Hampton) I stamped 2 - 12 x 12 pieces of the Crackle paper.
Next, I stamped (again randomly) a few of the designs with Memento Tuxedo Black, some of these designs (not all, I thought it would be too busy) were colored with my Copic markers. Now time to add lots of additional color - the following were used and sponged randomly for the additional color: VersaMagic Pumpkin Spice, VersaMagic Magnolia Bud, VersaMagic Purple Hydrangea, Brilliance Pearlescent Rust (LOVE that color), Pearlescent Orange and Pearlescent Lime.
I stamped the Destination words on cardstock with VersaFine Onyx Black and sponged it with all the colors - cut out and rounded the corners layering it to a plain black cardstock also with rounded corners.
For the spine I chose Black Diamond from Paper Adventures.
Cut and cover the composition book with your stamped papers covering the spine last, for the spine I chose Black Diamond from Paper Adventures.
I finished by adding the Destination words to the center front. Here's the finished project, I so enjoyed making these things and using Carrie's fabulous stamps and of course all the fabulous inks from Tsukineko.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY...see you again soon! Go by and visit Carrie (www.paperwingsproductions.com) tell her Debbie sent you.

Party Time

We've been in birthday party time mode over here for the last few months. Madalyn, Jack then Maddox birthday's all happen in the summer months. Luke is our winter baby.

This Stampendous stamp (Party Hat Kiddo CRP163) makes the perfect little birthday card.

  • I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.
  • Rarely do I color to match my paper but I loved the 6 x 6 paper pack from Basic Grey called What's Up. (another one of my Memphis trip finds at Eclectia.) So reds and purples were my picks.
  • I thought that it needed a little extra sparkle - so the hat and tutu have ultra fine glitter - I applied it with a glue pen, for better control.
  • Next cut out - round corners and layer layer layer - all were then attached to an A-2 purple card.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
