I just don't seem to have the hang of this blogging stuff yet! Made some really nice Christmas cards and didn't post them - let alone even tell you about them. Lisa (the youngest daughter) said I should be blogging every day, just like journaling.
It seems sort of silly to post the directions for the Christmas cards now, but I did come up with a pretty cool way to antique the card. It was one of those " happy accidents".
I had Jumbo Java VersaMagic ink on a Jumbo Dauber (both from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and my personal favorite for distressing the edges of paper because of the chalk finish) I ink up the dauber and then swirl off most of the color and then swirl onto the paper of my project. Anyway, I thought that the card needed a little "gold" so I pulled out my Delicata (its the Golden Glitz pigment pad from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko) and intending to use the same technique for the edges. The results were so beautiful I used it on the entire card! Santa's beard has a nice little golden hue. Next time you need some golden antiquing - give it a try.
I'm doing a little more experimenting back in my fabulous craft room! (I need to post pics of that room, I think I've told you before, it's my favorite room)
I LOVE happy accidents. Oh, the fabulous Santa stamp is from Stampendous!
